Should the CCA on a rental property be prorated when the taxation year is less than 365 days?

No. When the taxation year of a rental property is less than 365 days, the claim for CCA should not be prorated because rental income is considered property income rather than business income. The CCA calculation must therefore be done on a calendar year basis.
